Collingwood VFLW Premiership Coach and Captain in 2019

Joining the Griffith Swans in the Women’s AFL with Coach Trevor Richards in 2024

I’m Grace Buchan, a qualified Podiatrist and the director of GB Podiatry and Sports. Since graduating from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Podiatry in 2017, I have worked at a number of private practices and have gained a lot of podiatry and strength and conditioning knowledge through my experience with playing elite sport. Most recently, I was the sole practitioner at the Active Foot Clinic in Leeton.

My passion for sports and podiatry stems from my personal experience, as both an athlete and practitioner. For almost a decade, I have competed as an elite athlete for various VFLW football clubs, achieving premiership success as captain for Collingwood Football Club in 2019.

My aim is to provide personalised podiatry care for all ages and activity levels. I am passionate about helping people and communities to move better and to reach their health goals.

My sporting background:

I have played AFL in the Women’s VFLW for 7 years with Collingwood FC, St Kilda and have recently been involved in 2024 with GWS in the VFLW and their Riverina academies, since moving to this region. Prior to playing AFL, I played soccer and tennis competitively and competed in the Berlin Marathon in 2017 so I have a strong understanding of the injury management of different sports, their movement patterns and the demands on the body and mind at the highest level.

I am currently involved with the Griffith Swans in the local Women’s AFL league and strive to support other Griffith community sporting clubs and their programs.
