Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your first visit. Can't find your answer? Call us on (02) 6910 4170.

Do I need a referral to book in?

No. You can book directly online or over the phone, no GP referral needed. If you do have a Medicare (EPC) referral from your GP, bring it along and we'll process the rebate for you.

What does the first appointment involve?

Your initial appointment runs 45 to 60 minutes. We take a thorough history and perform an assessment tailored to your concern, then explain your diagnosis and what's causing it in plain language. You'll leave with a written treatment plan.

How long are appointments?

First appointments are 45 to 60 minutes so we can properly assess your biomechanics and concern. Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring the shoes you wear most often (including sports shoes if your concern is activity-related), plus any medical reports such as X-ray or scan results, and your GP referral if you have one.

Can I claim through my private health insurance?

Yes. If your extras cover includes podiatry, you can claim appointments and orthotics. We have a HICAPS terminal on-site, so claiming happens on the spot, and we can run a quote on the day if you're unsure of your cover.

Do you accept Medicare, NDIS, DVA or Home Care Packages?

Yes, we accept Medicare (EPC) referrals from GPs, NDIS participants, DVA and Home Care Packages. Call us if you'd like help understanding what your funding covers.

What makes GB Podiatry & Sports different?

Grace is both a high-level athlete and a podiatrist. While we cover every aspect of podiatry care, we specialise in injuries of the knee, lower leg, foot and ankle, with a strong focus on strength and rehabilitation so the problem stays fixed.

What does the "Sports" part of your name involve?

It covers the final, often-skipped stage of recovery: returning to your sport or activity, when re-injury risk is highest. We provide return-to-running and return-to-sport programs so you build back safely without overdoing it.

Where do I park and how do I find you?

We're inside the Griffith indoor sports facility at 9–13 Altin Street, with free on-site parking. Walk through the front entrance: the waiting room is on your right and the clinic room is straight ahead.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. If you can't make it into the clinic, we offer telehealth consultations for patients across the Riverina. Book online or call to arrange one.
